Samsung Galaxy Fold will return in September

Samsung’s first foldable phone was supposed to go on sale earlier this year, but the launch was delayed due to defects with its build. Samsung however has just announced that it has fixed the issues and have taken the time to fully evaluate the product design and have also made necessary improvements to the device. The fixes include:

  • The top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display has been extended beyond the bezel, making it apparent that it is an integral part of the display structure and not meant to be removed.
  • Galaxy Fold features additional reinforcements to better protect the device from external particles while maintaining its signature foldable experience:
  • The top and bottom of the hinge area have been strengthened with newly added protection caps.
  • Additional metal layers underneath the Infinity Flex Display have been included to reinforce the protection of the display.
  • The space between the hinge and body of Galaxy Fold has been reduced.

According to Samsung, the company is conducting final quality control tests and is expecting to officially relaunch in September. The bad new is that the device will be available for sale in US, South Korea, Germany, France, India and the UK. We have no idea when or if at all if will be coming to Nigeria.
