Google Discontinues Pixel 3a and 3a XL

In a statement released via Android Police, Google claimed its store has sold through its inventory and completed sales of two of its mid range devices – Pixel 3a and 3a XL, and so it will officially discontinue said devices. However, those who still want to get the devices can still do so through their partnered suppliers like Amazon, while the products are still in stock.

Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL were launched back in 2019 as the affordable variants succeeding Google’s flagship Pixel 3. Upon launch, both devices were highly praised by consumers for their camera performance and overall usability as budget tier devices. Google pixel 4a which is rumoured to succeed these devices in terms of features, capabilities and quality camera performance have been postponed indefinitely. Although the discontinuation of the pixel 3 variants seems to be a sign that 4a is impending.

So while the 3a and 3a XL are being discontinued, Pixel 4 which was released in October last year remains the only device for sale in Google’s store. Google pixel lovers can either go for the pixel 4 or snag one of the last pixel 3 variants from online stores.
